The Strategy Manager will function as in-house strategy / management consultant for ArabNet. The Strategy Manager will support in setting strategies across departments to leverage economies of scale and focus efforts to increase impact. The Strategy Manager will also support in the structuring and development of the organization, including the creation of new processes, procedures, and documentation to facilitate growth.
This is a unique opportunity to work on strategy in-house – allowing you to develop strategies that will be implemented directly, assess and measure the success of these strategies, and see the impact of your work and ideas. It is also a chance to work at a rapidly growing organization and to support in institutionalizing the business. Finally, it will provide you with a high-level view of the major trends in the digital sector, and a broad understanding of the movers and shakers who are shaping the web and mobile industry across the region.
We are looking for someone who will need minimal direction / management and is excited about the challenge of coming into an organization and figuring out ways that business can be optimized and improved.
This role reports to the CEO
Responsibilities
- Function as internal consultant
- Support with the development of strategy across departments, including product, marketing, sales, operations
- Research and evaluate new market opportunities and new products
- Develop recommendations for new business models and revenue sources
- Support with organizational development, including business planning and budgeting, development of new processes and procedures to streamline workflow
- Develop HR tools including performance reviews and competency matrices, building the future org charts for the growing business, etc.
- Support with setup and transition to a project management system
Ideal candidate would be/have:
- 3-5 years of experience in strategy / management consulting, or in-house strategy
- Self-starter – able to set and manage own workplan
- Strong analytical and math skills – able to slice and dice our data to extract insights that would benefit the business
- Team player – able to work well / negotiate / compromise with peers in a tight-knit team
- Passion and curiosity about digital technology and how it’s transforming industries
- Implementor – the final deliverables here will not be a powerpoint – you will be responsible for getting buy-in and adoption of the strategies and processes you develop
